A Lifetime of Searching for Jewelry |

Conventionally I always thought going to an online store to buy jewelry was the best way to keep cash in the pocket. This weekend I found an even cheaper place for jewelry; the beach. After you hear this story, I think you’ll stick to shopping online but I thought it was pretty unique. So I was walking along the beach this weekend, enjoying the 75 degree temperature and huge sets of waves that were pounding the coast. After getting past the people playing volleyball, flying kites and sun bathing, I came across an older man, by himself who was waving one of those metal detectors across the sand. I had never seen anyone doing this and was immediately intrigued. On TV, there is always a character who strikes gold scouring the beach for lost do-dads.
Walking in the direction of the smiling bearded man, I stopped and asked if he had any luck so far. Looking up he smiled and said, “You’re not going to believe it”. Reaching into his loose khaki shorts, he pulled out a piece of gold jewelry. The necklace was a bit dull from sitting under the sand but had an extremely unique pendant of what looked to be a Taurus with red stones for eyes. Wow. Laughing he said, “You know what, after years of canvassing the beach this is the first thing of any real value I have ever found.” Looks like it, I said, “how long you been doing this.” He smirked and said “I grew up here son, probably more years then you have been on this Earth.” Now this is the cheapest way to find jewelry but as the old man said, it’s not exactly an everyday happening. I’ll stick to online shopping.
