jewelry, gold jewelryI don’t think there is any other form of jewelry past anything with diamonds that has withstood the test of wardrobe trends better then gold. Gold is a sign of power, wealth, stability and in the case of my Halloween costume that extra nudge to completely transforming me into a 1986 b-boy. I found a great plastic rip off of the famous gold jewelry rope look for Halloween but it just doesn’t compare to having the real thing.

The other day I was looking at a video my buddy is making for a hip-hop group and one of the lyrists was wearing this ultra thick, twisting gold rope. It looked freaking sweet. I don’t know about wearing it every day but for Halloween this piece of gold jewelry would really make my costume. Apparently this piece of fake gold jewelry is this guy’s calling card. You have to have some real cajones to step out in public flashing a huge gold rope popularized by people like Ghost Face or Run DMC. I can’t imagine what a real gold necklace like this would cost but it wouldn’t be cheap. As my friend said, “You never know what kind of sweet deals there are online.” And I think this applies to jewelry too.
