jewelryMaybe it is I never wore necklaces or rings growing up but I just don’t feel comfortable wearing jewelry. There was a Junior High phase when I screwed on a brown Pooka Shell necklace every day before school but when that went out of style, I again left home without any outfit accessories. I did have some religious necklaces but for fear of ruining them, I kept them hanging on my dresser at home. There then was a phase where I always had a watch on. I liked how it looked, felt and helped tell the time.

I took awhile to get my own cell phone. Not until late Junior High did I have a digital clock always ready in my pocket. Before that my watch was the best way to figure out when it was time to go home. Now the only piece of jewelry I rock is a watch I found online after graduating college. It is my go to accessory when trying to make a good impression or look professional. Now I understand why people collect jewelry. Someday there will be a drawer in my room filled with a watch for every day of the week.
