My best friend sent me a text message this morning that said it was so cold outside that her gold jewelry had practically frozen to her chest. I couldn’t help but laugh at the message, and she followed it up with another saying that I had been warned to leave all gold jewelry behind before going out. Of course I didn’t pay any attention to her antics and headed out the door as usual and low and behold if she wasn’t right. The second I walked out the door a gust of wind swept across my neck and my gold jewelry felt ice cold against my skin. It wasn’t as dramatic as she made it sound, but it was cold and the wind made it feel even colder.
If I hadn’t promised my brother that I’d drop off the gold jewelry that he’d ordered for his wife online and had sent to our place, I probably wouldn’t have even got out this morning. I promised him I would drop it off at his office since he didn’t have time to come here before heading out of town with her for the weekend. As soon as I gave him the gold jewelry, I ran in the supermarket and picked up a few things for dinner and rushed back home. I’m not going out again if I can help it.
